Italy was absolutely amazing and one of the coolest cities I've visited in my life.  The country's history is so well preserved through the iconic monuments, you can really get a sense of what it was like to live there.  Also, the area was so diverse from the metropolitan Rome to the peaceful countryside in Tuscany, so every day felt like a totally new experience.
